Merry Christmas from Our House to Yours!

People frequently ask us… “What on earth do you do with your time?”  I wish we had time to tell you!  We manage to stay very busy with family, friends, and various projects.
Greg is still delivering Meals on Wheels at least one day a week.  He also got a new motorcycle this fall, and we have both enjoyed taking rides through several counties (he does all the driving – I just tag along on the back occasionally!).  I still maintain several blogs and write a daily devotional that is posted on the Internet and e-mailed to nearly 100 individuals… and my sewing machine sees action several times a week!

I even added a serger to the mix, which has greatly enhanced my sewing projects and given me even more interest in creating all sorts of fashions and accessories!  I also help my mom maintain her blogs.  Greg has lunch with his mother, aka “Grandma E”, every Monday after he delivers Meals on Wheels, and he handles her yard work and “handyman” chores.

Most Sundays, we attend church together and share lunch with Timothy and Zola at Burger King!  Grandma E still lives alone and dog-sits for quite a few clients…and she is doing very well.

Speaking of Timothy and Zola… they and their baby brother, Nathan, are growing like weeds.  Timothy is 4 now and attends pre-K at Circle of Love, which is housed at the First Baptist Church campus.  Zola is 2 and loves anything girlie.  Nathan is one, and he is just coming into his own and developing a sweet and good-natured personality.  These kiddos keep us on our toes, and we love every minute spent with them!

You probably know that we lost Mam-ma Polly on March 8th.  We celebrated her 100 years, 123 days of living life to the fullest… and she truly did exactly that.  Her aides were unable to rouse her on the morning of March 7th, and she was Home the following evening.  I cannot tell you how much I miss her… but it is amazing how the “time gap” created by her death has been filled with other people and projects that vie for my attention.  I just hope that I can be half the blessing to others that she was.  I have some BIG shoes to fill!

We still enjoy life on the bluff in our little corner of the world… our cats, Lucy and Mabel, are our constant companions.  Both of them are still pretty spry and healthy for 14-year-olds.

We are blessed with good health and good friends like you… and we thank God every day for His gift of Jesus Christ – the reason we are celebrating this holiday season.  We hope that as you enjoy the holidays, you will take time to count your blessings… and to recognize the One who makes it all possible.  God bless and keep each of you – Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
